~Seeing the Roof of Africa Through New Eyes~
Hiking Kilimanjaro is breathtaking, with stunning landscapes and a thrilling summit.
Mt. Kilimanjaro
Mount Kilimanjaro is found in the Northern part of Tanzania. It is one of the World Heritage Sites as per UNESCO records, and the only highest free-standing mountain in the world. The mountain has two main dormant volcanic peaks, i.e., Kibo at the height of 19, 340 ft (5,895 meters), and Mawenzi 16,896ft (5,149m). The trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro is a challenging one, but the rewards are great. The views from the top of the mountain are simply breathtaking, and the sense of accomplishment that comes with reaching the summit is second to none. A trekker interested in summitting the roof of Africa can do it in either of the seven routes; Machame, Lemosho, Marangu, Rongai, Umbwe and Northern Circuit. Mweka is the seventh route that is mainly used for trekking back to the gate. The most commonly used routes are Machame and Marangu. On your way to the summit, you will interact with the unique nature of the mountain coupled with the different climatic zone. Also, you might see some animals like elephants, Colobus monkeys, baboons, etc., as well as different bird species. Though Kilimanjaro Mountain can be sumitted throughout the year still October stands out to be the best month.
N.B:
The specified number of days for each route (see options below) does not include arrival and departure days. For instance, if the Marangu route is listed as 6 days, you should allocate an additional 2 days for arrival and departure, bringing the total to 8 days.
